Recording
We have been in the recording field for over 35 years, and have done over 2,200 live recordings. We are confident that we can provide you with a first-class recording in both sessions and live performances.
We primarily record acoustic groups such as orchestras, choirs, chamber groups, ensembles, and solo instrument recitals. Most of the remote recordings we do are of live concerts. We can also run on-location recording sessions at a venue selected by you or your record label. We record digitally, utilizing the latest 24-bit technology and state-of-the-art equipment. Our goal is to capture the performance so realistically that listeners feel as though they are sitting in the same room as the performers. We can provide almost any type of stereo microphone setup you need, from A-B to X-Y.
The venue you play in is very important to the overall sound of your recording. If you have questions or want our opinion on the quality of the venue you have selected we would be happy to evaluate it for you before the session (a small fee may be necessary to cover travel costs). If there are going to be problems with the recording or venue the best time to deal with them is before the recording session is scheduled.
It takes approximately one hour to set up and another hour to tear down from recording a session or performance. Please allow for these extra two hours in scheduling. These two hours are part of the total number of hours charged.
If the recording location is more than 30 miles from our facility and will take more than one day to complete, an expense fee will be charged in order to cover our travel, lodging, and food costs while at the recording session. The expense fee is dependent on the complexity of the recording, the location of the venue and the number of personnel needed. A complete estimate can be provided before the session is scheduled
